How to add Canon Printer
Step 1 ) Download Canon UFR II Linux Driver
Option A: GUI Mode
Option B: CUPS Web Interface
- Visit the Canon Official Support Website. - https://in.canon/en/support
- Search for your specific Printer Model and select your Operating System.
- Download the URF Driver DEB package (usually named like linux-UFRII-drv-v****-****.tar.gz)
- tar -xvzf linux-UFRII-drv-*.tar.gz
- cd linux-UFRII-drv-*/Debian
- sudo apt update
- sudo apt install -y libcups2 libcupsimage2
- sudo dpkg -i *.deb
- sudo apt --fix-broken install
- sudo systemctl restart cups
Option A: GUI Mode
- Open Settings → Printers
- Click Add Printer
- Select Network Printer → Find Network Printer
- Enter:
- ipp:// [Enter Printer Hostname or IP Address] /ipp
- or
- socket:// [Enter Printer Hostname or IP Address]
- When prompted for driver: Choose Canon
- Select Canon iR-ADV C3326 UFR II
Option B: CUPS Web Interface
- Open browser:
- http://localhost:631
- Administration → Add Printer
- Login with your Ubuntu username/password
- Select:
- AppSocket/HP JetDirect
- Enter:
- socket:// [Enter Printer Hostname or IP Address]
- Choose:
- Manufacturer: Canon
- Model: Canon C3326 UFR II

Step 1 ) Download and Install Canon UFR II Mac Driver
- Visit the Canon Official Support Website. - https://in.canon/en/support
- Search for your specific Printer Model and select your Operating System.
- Download the UFR Driver for MacOS (usually named like UFR II/UFRII LT Printer Driver ****** MacOS****)
- Install the UFR Driver. Restart the Mac if prompted
- Prepare the Printer
- Ensure the Printer is Powered ON and Connected to the network
- Obtain the IP address or Hostname from Printer control panel → Network settings (Listed Above)
- Add Printer on macOS
- Open Apple Menu → System Settings (or System Preferences) → Go to Printers & Scanners → Click the + (Add Printer) button → Select the IP tab
- Enter Details:
- Address: Enter the printer's IP address/Hostname (Listed Above).
- Protocol: Select Airprint.
- Choose Driver: Find and select the appropriate Driver { For e.g., "Canon imageRUNNER C3326/C3330" printer select Canon C3326 driver) and click Add.
Step 1: Download & Extract the Driver
- Visit the Canon Official Support Website. - https://in.canon/en/support
- Search for your specific Printer Model and select your Operating System.
- Locate and download the UFR II Printer Driver (e.g., UFR II Printer Driver vXX.XX).
- Once downloaded, right-click the file and Extract it to a known folder on your computer.
Step 2: Run the Driver Installer
- Open the extracted folder and double-click the Setup.exe file to begin.
- Accept the License Agreement and follow the initial on-screen prompts.
- When asked to select a Setup Method, choose Custom and click Next.
- On the Device Selection screen, ensure Add New Printer is selected and click Next.
- Set the Configuration Profile to Auto (this allows the driver to detect specific printer features automatically).
Step 3: Configure the Network Port
- On the next screen, click the Add Port button.
- From the list of port types, select Standard TCP/IP Port and click OK.
- The Add Standard TCP/IP Port Wizard will launch; click Next.
- Enter the Printer’s IP Address or Hostname in the "Printer Name or IP Address" field.
- Click Next, then click Finish to close the Port Wizard.
Step 4: Finalize Installation
- Review the printer list to ensure your model and the new port are selected, then click Next.
- Click Start to begin the driver installation process.
- Once the installation is successful, follow the final prompts and click Exit.
- Restart your computer to complete the setup and ensure the driver is properly initialized.
